The information listed on this page is intended to help 
you determine the type of material you have to sell. 
 

Car Body: Includes Cars, Pickup Trucks, Vans and similar vehicles (This does not include
buses and motor homes). To receive the advertised per ton price on a vehicle the frame must
be intact and the vehicle must have a clear title. The fuel tank must either be drained and
removed or have a HUGE hole in the BOTTOM of the tank - large enough to stick your head
inside the tank. If the fuel tank is not EITHER drained and removed OR have a HUGE hole in
the BOTTOM of the tank the vehicle will not be accepted. 
Car bodies cut up must still have a clear title - NO EXCEPTIONS!

*Fuel tanks MUST be REMOVED or have a LARGE HOLE (large enough for a person to stick
their head inside) or they will not be accepted. A tire disposal fee will be charged if you leave
tires on a vehicle.

Application must be completed and turned into the Secretary of State for approval.

Tin: Includes washers, dryers, refrigerators*, freezers*, stoves and other similar items. 

*Compressors must be removed from refrigerators and freezers or a certificate showing the
freon has been collected must be presented at scale. Compressors purchased as well.

Clean Copper:
        Number 1: For wire, each individual strand of the wire must be
                          the size of a No. 2 pencil lead or larger. For pipe
                          and other material, it must be clean and shinny to the
                          point that you can still read the original manufacturer
                          stamp.

        Number 2: For wire, each individual strand is smaller than
                          the size of a No. 2 pencil lead. Pipe and other
                          material may have solder and other contaminants.

        Number 3: Sheet copper

Clean Brass:
        
        Yellow Brass: Plumbing and other Fittings, Faucets, etc.

Clean Aluminum:
        Wheels: Rims must be made of aluminum. Steel rims are
                      considered short steel. The weights must be removed
                      to receive full purchase value. Weights may also be
                      purchased separately at current market value.

        Old: Clean aluminum sheet. Includes any type of aluminum sheet with small amounts
                of contamination such as screws, staples, light tar, caulk, etc. Non-returnable pop
                cans are also purchased as Old Aluminum as well as other aluminum cans such
                as cat food. Pontoons are purchased as Old - BUT THEY MUST HAVE A HOLE
                CUT IN THEM so we can see that there is no foam, water, etc. inside.

        Painted: Includes siding, soffit, facia and other similar materials. For the most part, any
                        sheet-type aluminum that has been FACTORY (not hand) painted. All screws
                        and backing material must be removed to receive full purchase value.

        Cast: Cast Aluminum

        Clip: Good, clean and shiny aluminum like lawn chair frames.

        Extruded: Window and door frames. Material has been run through an "extruder", it has been
                          "molded not folded".

Batteries:
        Regular automotive size are purchased at the advertised price.
        For smaller batteries you will be given credit for a quarter, half
        or three-quarters of a battery and larger batteries may be
        purchased for a higher value.

Clean Radiators:
        Auto: Radiators constructed of brass.

        Aluminum: Radiators constructed of aluminum.

        Copper/Aluminum: Radiators with aluminum fins and copper tubes.

Heater Cores: Also includes small radiators.

Pistons:
        Purchased as Irony Aluminum with rings and or rods still attached. Purchased as
        Cast Aluminum when no steel is present.

Transmissions:
        Automatic transmissions made from aluminum will be 
        purchased at the advertised prices. Cast transmissions 
        purchased as mixed cast. Manual transmissions valued 
        at half of automatic.

Starters and Alternators:
        Includes most starters and alternators from most cars, trucks and other equipment.
        Certain styles may be purchased as electric motors.

Catalytic Converters: 
       
Large GM (Honeycomb)
        Medium GM (Honeycomb)

        Large Foreign (Honeycomb)
   
     PreCats (Aftermarket)

        Catalist: Material, either honeycomb or bead, used inside converters.

Clean Die Cast:
        Self explanatory.

Carburetors:
        Purchased as Irony Aluminum.

Stainless Steel:
        Must be non-magnetic (a magnet will not be attracted to it) and have no steel or other
        contamination attached to it.

Ferrous (steel) Materials:

        2 Foot Plate and Structural: Must be the same size as Alloy Free and Short Steel which is
                           2 foot by 18  inches and smaller but can ONLY be plate and structural material
                           such as plate steel, I-beam, H-beam and angle iron that are at least one quarter
                           of an inch thick.

        5 Foot Plate and Structural: Must also be ONLY plate and structural material same as 2
                           Foot Plate and Structural listed above but cut into 5 foot by 2 foot and smaller.
                           Must also be at least one quarter of an inch thick just like the 2 foot listed above.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING 2 FOOT AND 5 FOOT PLATE AND STRUCTURAL MATERIALS:
There cannot be any galvanized material. Nuts and bolts are ok IF ATTACHED to the P & S material but nuts and bolts cannot be purchased as P & S by themselves, if they are mixed in loose in the load it will be downgraded to Short Steel or 4 X 2.

        Alloy Free: Includes structural material such as trailer house
                          frames, I-beams, channel, angle iron and black rims
                          (rims must have valve stems and weights removed).
                          Pipe may go as alloy free if it is BLACK.
                          Must be cut into 2' x 18" or smaller pieces and be
                          1/8 of an inch thick or thicker to receive full
                          purchase value. Must be black iron, no chrome.

        Short Steel: Includes all ferrous steel items. Must be cut into
                          2' x 18" or smaller pieces and be 1/8 of an inch
                          thick or thicker to receive full purchase value. Any heavy steel that does not meet
                          the specifications for Alloy Free cut into this length may go as short steel. Steel rims
                          with valve stems attached are also Short Steel wheel weights must be removed!

        Mixed Cast: Anything over 3" thick will be priced at scales. Includes cast iron items such as
                               cast iron sinks and bath tubs, some gears and older farm equipment.

        Clean Motor Cast: Includes cast iron motor blocks that have had all
                           aluminum, sheet iron and non-metallic material
                           removed from them. Also includes brake drums, rotors, crankshafts and
                           non-aluminum heads.

        Unclean Motor Cast: Includes motor blocks that have not had
                           the aluminum and sheet iron removed.

        2 X 4 Steel: Includes all ferrous steel items. Must be cut into
                           2' X 4' or smaller pieces and be 1/8 or an inch
                           thick or thicker to receive full sale value.

        Unprepared: Includes all the above materials that have not been
                            cleaned or prepared using the information above.
                            Price may be less than advertised depending on the
                            quality of your material.
